Major VoIP companies such as Ring Central, Vonage, Nextiva, and others take a bundling approach, similar to big cable companies when selling their voice service. They only offer three or four “bundles of phone features” for customers to buy at $25, $35, $45, or $55 per phone per month. While most customers want to pay $25, many of the features they want—or even need—are in the more expensive bundles. This forces them to spend $35 or $45 per phone per month just to receive the one or two features they actually need. They often end up paying 50% or more than they intended.
